The atmosphere of an event determines how it will be received by a wider audience. The goal of the three-day celebration of German Unity Day was to appeal to the general public while maintaining the desired level of sophistication and individuality. The main objective of the organisers was to emphasize a coherent appearance in order to clearly set their event apart from the folk festival feeling typical of large outdoor fairs. As the Creative Project Manager, I was responsible for all aspects related to branding, as well as look and feel of the event. As the intermediary between production and designers, my task was to develop measures that would translate the visual side of the campaign onto the festival grounds while managing the execution on behalf of Kulturprojekte Berlin. In line with the festival’s slogan ‘NUR MIT EUCH’ the branding concept included powerful written messages and featured black, red, and gold confetti as key design visuals.
