Berlin celebrated the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall on November 9th with an installation of historical banners and redesigned protest signs along the former inner-city Wall route. The gallery featured “thousands of voices for freedom” – a mix of replicas of historical banners from ’89 and posters that were created over the summer in numerous workshops with the city’s residents. On the street, the contributions formed a 4 km long route of signs that highlighted the former path of the Wall, from Zimmerstraße in Kreuzberg to Invalidenstraße in Mitte, turning the slogan “Hold Freedom Up High!” into an emotional experience.
